Dominica

Several months ago, I wrote a short post about a sweet baby that was new to Casa de Fe. Dominica came to us at about 18 months of age. She lacked the ability to sit up, stand up or even roll over. Her mother had cared for her as best she could until she brought her to Casa de Fe, hoping that we could help.

Our staff and therapists did all they could to help Dominica. At times, she seemed to be progressing and then at other times, it seemed to me (a mother, not a doctor) that she had no "fight" left in her. Her sweet mother visited her every week. And every week, she cried and cried as she rocked her sweet baby. As a mother myself, I could not imagine the helplessness she must have felt.

Yesterday, we all said "see ya soon" to Dominica one last time. God ended her fight and took her home.

I grieve...because I miss her, and I know her mother does too.

I grieve...because life is not FAIR!

I grieve...because I long to be with her, at the feet of Jesus!

I REJOICE...because she is WHOLE, and she is HEALED!

I REJOICE...because she is in the presence of Christ!

I REJOICE...because I will see her again one day!

Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5b
